Why I'm running
For too long, the issues facing Ward 1 have been overlooked by Scugog council. While the majority of the municipality’s funding flows to central Port Perry, our roads, parks, and rural infrastructure have been left behind.
Our communities deserve better. Reliable snow removal, safe, well-maintained, roads and clean, modernized public spaces aren’t luxuries, they’re the basics, and right now, Ward 1 is not receiving the attention it deserves.
Instead, Council is approving costly projects like the Fairgrounds “visioning” exercise, an expensive taxpayer-funded survey designed to justify selling parts of our historic fairgrounds, despite strong community opposition to the sale.
Enough is enough.
Ward 1 needs a strong voice at council, someone who will fight for what truly matters to rural residents and ensure that our tax dollars are spent where they ’re needed most.
